VeChain Price Faces Key Test as VIP-255 Nears Launch

The VeChain price has reached a level where the next move could depend heavily on whether buyers can finally push through the 200-day EMA. The resistance sits around $0.0070, just as VeChainThor prepares for its major VIP-255 upgrade on September 16.

VIP-255 Brings Three Core Protocol Changes

VeChain’s latest update focused on the third and final part of VIP-255, covering three core protocol improvements. EIP-2935 will make historical block hashes for the latest 8,191 blocks accessible through a contract using Ethereum’s calling convention, allowing Ethereum-oriented proof systems and light-client designs to work with less network-specific modification.

EIP-7825 introduces a 16,777,216-gas ceiling for individual transactions. That matters because multi-clause transactions could otherwise consume a large portion of a block and potentially affect VeChainThor’s 10-second block timing.

Then there’s EIP-7934, which caps encoded block size at 8 MiB. The idea is fairly simple: prevent cheap data from creating oversized blocks that could slow propagation and make running network nodes increasingly expensive.

VeChain Price Still Needs Buyers at Resistance

The upgrade has coincided with a positive reaction in the VeChain price, which has climbed toward the 200-day EMA. Yet the rally has stalled around the same zone, leaving $0.0070 as the immediate test.

If follow-up demand arrives and VeChain price breaks above the 200-day EMA, the next potential levels are $0.0100 and $0.0160. That would give the bullish case some actual evidence instead of merely another failed resistance test.

On the other hand, rejection could send the token back toward $0.0050, with $0.0042 also remaining in focus. Crypto markets have a habit of punishing premature optimism.

September Could Decide VeChain’s Next Direction

VIP-255 is scheduled to go live at Block Height 25,902,540 on September 16, 2026, at an estimated 11:15:10 UTC. With the protocol upgrade addressing transaction limits, block size and compatibility, the VeChain price now faces a simple technical question, whether buyers can turn the $0.0070 resistance into support still remains uncertain.
